Hugh Victor McKay was an Australian inventor and business man. He invented the firstcommerically viable combine harvester, a machine that is essential to wheatfarms and something that completely revolutionised the industry. Hugh called these, “Sunshine Harvesters”.
Hugh’s motto was: “There must be a better way of doing the job” and as such was always striving to find the best way to do the job. He wasn’t ever satisfied with the answer, “because that’s how we’ve always done it”.
Although based over East, due to their popularity, Hugh started workshops all over thecountry. His base of operations for Western Australia was in the exact same warehouse that Sunshine Harvester is. By calling our concept, “The SunshineHarvester Works”, we intend to give tribute to Hugh, and what he stood for.
